The camping-site can also be used as departure point for one-day trips to both entertainment and cultural destinations, so as to fit all needs and tastes. From the cultural perspective, it is worth mentioning the nearby city of Como: founded by the Romans over 2000 years ago it is now a city where arts, culture and history live side by side with trade and industry (especially silk and textile industry), all set in a frame to which the Lake gives an unique atmosphere and beauty. Worth a visit are the Cathedral (il Duomo) with a Roman-gothic facade, the medieval Town Hall (il Broletto), the Basilica of San Fedele, Porta Torre, the monument to A. Volta, the Silk Museum, the Basilica of Sant'Abbondio and Villa Olmo.

During the summer months the village of Dongo is served by both ship and hydrofoil service, thanks to which it is possible to reach quickly and comfortably the most beautiful spots of Lake Como. Montain-hikers can visit Valtellina, Val di Mello, Valmasino, Valchiavenna, Engadine (St Moritz) or the duty free area of Livigno. Shoppers can instead easily reach the shopping malls of Milan, Lecco and Lugano (Switzerland).
